LITTLE RIVER BAND was formed in April 1975 in Melbourne, Australia. The first formation of the band included Glenn Shorrock, Graeham Goble, Derek Pellicci, Roger McLachlan, Rick Formosa and myself. This formation recorded the first two LITTLE RIVER BAND albums, Little River Band and After Hours. Within a year of recording Little River Band, the band’s manager signed a deal with Capitol Records in the United States.
Graeham Goble, Russ Johnson and John Mower were members of ALISON GROS, a group from Adelaide, South Australia. They recorded an album of original songs for the Fable label in Melbourne. On completion of the recording it was decided they needed a new name. They settled on MISSISSIPPI as their name that also became the title of their debut album released on the Bootleg label in 1971.
